Winning Is Everything.

Speed Freek APEX is for virtual racers who want the winning edge in every corner of every lap. The racing controller enhancement gives you more control during tense racing situations to help you record fewer DNFs and more podium finishes in games like Forza Motorsport 4, Need for Speed and Gran Turismo 5. Get the most out of your car, rule the road, and climb to the top of the leaderboards without the need for bulky and expensive wheel and pedal controllers.

The Speed Freek APEX was developed as an alternative to our award winning Speed Freek controller accessory. By snapping the Speed Freek to the APEX’s included rubberized base, the height of the add-on is increased, providing more fluid control and maneuverability. The added height also adds a level of grip and ergonomic comfort that will keep your lap times consistent for longer periods of time.

Speed Freek APEX can be used with or without the rubberized base for a customized feel that’s right for every game.

Works great in games like:

  • Gran Turismo 5
  • Forza Horizon
  • Forza Motorsport 4
  • Need For Speed
  • GRID
  • F1 2012
  • Dirt 3

Speed Freek APEX is designed to fit both the PS3 controller and Xbox 360 controller but will also fit many third-party versions.

Highly Recommended

I was really excited to try this product. i really like racing games, and on occasion i've had my thumb slip off the thumbstick while in the middle of a turn. This product prevents such things from happening, and it also allows for better stick manipulation which results in more precise control. Having the stick a bit higher up is a lot more comfortable on your hand. In my experience, it doesn't work as well on the playstation controller, but i think that's more to do with the design of the playstation controller and nothing wrong on kontrolfreek's side - with the sticks so close to each other, the u-shaped part hits the right stick and that kept messing me up (I've found that fps freeks work well with racing games on the ps3). If you play a lot of racing games on xbox 360 i totally recommend this

It really works!

I just got the Speed Freek and installed it on my Razer Onza TE. It fits perfectly and feels even better on racing games, you need one of these RIGHT NOW!!!!

Definatly buy !

My order took 4 weeks to ship, that was a bummer. Besides that overall the $20 I payed to get it to me was well worth it. I used to drift with a wheel (Logitech driveFX) on Forza 3, couldn't use the controller for the life of me. there wasnt enough range of motion, then I tried it with the speed feaks when Forza 4 came out (got both roughly at the same time). I noticed I got roughly about the same range of motion as my wheel so the transition was awesome. Now I run podium spots in circuit (top 1k Alps w/ Pagani C12), working my way up the leaderboards slowly losing assist as I become more skilled. I would defiantly recommend this, it gives to the improvement that a wheel would give you but without the comfort, if your into racing and want that 1-3sec lap improvement on your online circuits then defiantly pick this up ahah. As for Skate 3, I'm ranked 60-70th in Spot Battle and it totally hinders my ability to tap the ABXY buttons with it on. This made it difficult to do some maneuvers because of how quick you have to be. This is all.

Product Questions & Answers

Q) What is the difference between Speed Freek and the new Speed Freek APEX?
A) Speek Freek APEX is the Speed Freek but with an optional base that can be used for added precision and grip. The added “rise” that the base provides allows for smaller movements, which translates into smoother actions on the track. Use Speed Freek APEX with or without the base depending on personal preference and style of gameplay.

Q) i know you have the option to raise the speed freak but can you take the raise away and just attach the speed freak to the regular controller? Without the raiser thingy Thanks
A) Yes you can! Thanks, KontrolFreek Customer Care
