Well I recently received my FPS Freeks a few days ago and wanted to write a review, but I wanted to do a test run first. So that I could know exactly what the pro’s and con’s of them are.
They didn’t take too long to come here (about 2 weeks), and it was an international shipment (Canada). But like most of you have read on these forums, YouTube, and other review websites… They’re completely worth the cost. This isn’t a gimmick, or a scheme. I am one of the most sceptical people when it comes to buying stuff online especially when they seem to be too good to be true. I assure you these aren’t.
Let’s start with the packaging. It comes in a manila envelope, with bubble wrap in side. It comes with your receipt, a sticker that says “FPS Freeks” (which I assume you can put on your controller), and the actual FPS Freeks themselves (2 pieces). I’ve tried to put the sticker on my controller, but seeing as it’s not a laminated sticker (just a regular one); if you sweat a lot it’ll mess with the sticker and make it look not appealing. So just put it on a sticker, or the side of your console. Keep in mind this ISN’T why you bought the FPS Freeks, so don’t focus too much on it.
Moving on to build quality. They’re pretty damn strong; I’ve dropped my controller from a few inches with them on (accidently of course) and they seem to be fine they didn’t even pop off. They fit as snugly as you can imagine on a standard 360 wired controller from Microsoft. This means as you’re playing they won’t spin or shift in anyway.
Now you’ve read through all the info and I’m sure you still asking… But do… they… work? Simply put; without a doubt. I tried these puppies on and was blown away by how much just an inch and a half of height aided my aim. Accuracy is probably the first thing you’ll notice. Those little movements you make to correct your aim when you’re in the middle of looking down your sight seem a whole lot more precise. Another factor that people keep overlooking when they do reviews I find is what I like to call the “smoothe-factor”. My game of choice is Halo 3, and I’ve noticed from watching previous games compared to my more recent games with the Freeks on that my reticule moves in a smoother fashion. It’s not as jerky as it was when I would turn corners and follow people who are jumping around. Since they allow your aim to be smoother and more precise when making those little adjustments, you can play at a higher sensitivity allowing for quick 180’s when you need them.
In conclusion, I think these things are a perfect buy. They come 2 per pack, which means that you can use one on the right joystick on two separate controllers because the left analog stick isn’t really needed. For the level of game play that they’ve added… It’s completely worth the $10 they cost. If you got spare change on you, and are looking to improve your game play, then this is a definite buy. They may take some time to get to you, but blame USPS not the guys at Freeks. Thank you KF for bringing out such a well developed, quality product for such a low cost. I look forward to more add-ons from you guys.
