WaW Zombie maps for Black Ops

Welcome!

Good afternoon, evening, morning and night! Wherever you are in the world, we’d like to welcome you to the place where time is irrelevant and rare zombie codes wait patiently for redemption. We are pleased to meet all of you new fans from Facebook and we welcome back all you original Freeks who have been with us since the beginning.

What we’ve got here is…

About a month ago we got our hands on a couple of those rare Call of Duty: Black Ops zombie maps and avatar outfit cards that shipped with the Prestige and Hardened editions of the game (thanks, @NuckFuggets!). People went crazy! Over the past few weeks we’ve noticed a bunch of you asking for “moar zombie maps pweez,” “I can haz zombie maps nao,” and “gimme zombie maps kthnxbai.” Silly internet memes aside, we heard you.

Rapid fire!

Here’s how it’s going to work: throughout the day we will be firing codes out at you over Facebook. The first one to redeem each code will be the winner. To make things more challenging, we’ll be replacing one or more of the code characters with a question mark(s) and you’ll need to guess the missing character(s) to win. We have a total of six codes to give out—three map packs and three avatar outfits. Two avatar outfits and two map packs are for Xbox 360 and the other map pack and avatar outfit is for PS3. We’ll say what the code is for when we post it. Good luck!

FAQ

Q: Where do I redeem the code?

A: For Xbox 360 or Xbox.com. While signed into Xbox LIVE, go to the Marketplace blade, then select “Redeem Code.” From there, use the keyboard to type in the code. On Xbox.com, go to this page (after you sign in) and enter the code. Hint: Pasting the code will work with some browsers.

A: For PS3. Go to the PlayStation Network tab, select “Account Management” and then “Redeem Codes.” You can also redeem codes while accessing the PlayStation Store.

Q: What are the question marks (?) I see in the codes?

A: To make it more challenging we have replaced one (or more) of the code characters with a question mark. You need to guess the missing character(s) to win.

Q: I entered the code, but I get an error that the code is not valid! I know I entered it correctly.

A: You probably did enter the code correctly, but someone has already redeemed the code.

Q: What do you mean someone entered the code already?

A: Each code is only good ONCE. That means that the first person to correctly enter the code will get the item for free.

Q: How do people enter the code so quickly!

A: They may own a chat pad, or be using a USB Keyboard. It is much quicker to enter codes using one of these methods.

Q: I was working / sleeping/ eating/ taking a test/ stuck in traffic when you posted the code. Can you send me one?

A: No. Sorry.

Q: It’s my birthday! Can you send me a code?

A: No. Happy Birthday though!

Q: When will you give them out? Is it a certain time?

A: Nope. Your best option is to keep checking Facebook throughout the day.

Q: Are the codes good where I live?

A: Probably. There may be some restrictions but we’re not aware of them.

Q: I live in (insert country here) can I participate in your code give away?

A: Sure. Anyone can participate.

Q: Do you have any more codes once these are gone?

A: Nope.

MAG gets DLC, too… For those who care.
By Trevor Roppolo

MAG was [is] one of those games that you either loved in spite of its shortcomings or hated because, shortcomings or not, it was pure trash.  I’m still not 100% sure which side I’m on.  I love the massive amounts of action taking place on-screen but loathe most of the rest.  Well, no matter.  Enough people out there on PSN still play enough MAG to warrant its first batch of paid DLC.

On June 22, you (apparently) thousands of really quiet MAG fans will be able to download the “Interdiction” expansion pack from the PlayStation Network for $9.99.

From Zipper Interactive:

But what’s in it,” you say? Well, for starters, we’re introducing a brand new gametype that we’re calling (what else?) “Interdiction.” Built for up to 128 simultaneous players, Interdiction challenges two rival factions to be attackers and seize control of three command posts with the aid of several heavily-armed convoys on three brand new maps (Lake Bayano Spur, Sovot Motorway, and Iron Cree Quarry). To make it even more interesting, we’ve made all three maps completely faction neutral – allowing all sides to play any map whenever they want – in addition to supplying every squad with their own APC vehicle (that’s 16 APCs on the map at once!). To win, players must capture and hold as many objectives as possible to increase their score while concurrently depleting their enemy’s. In short, Interdiction mode = crazy battlefield mayhem.

Zipper is also including in the Interdiction pack a new “Heavy Improved” armor set and some new medals, ribbons and trophies.

Borderlands DLC Available Today!
By Trevor Roppolo
11/24/2009 2:12:00 PM

If you are one of those people (like me) who just can’t get enough of killing hatchet-wielding midgets, looting corpses, and exploring the wastelands of Pandora with a few close friends, I’ve got some good news for you.  2K and Gearbox have released the first batch of DLC (downloadable content) for Borderlands today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network that lets you jump right back in to the action and continue your happy times.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned promises all-new scenery, more hours of questing, a sweet moustache, and most importantly, new baddies to kill and loot.  So check out the trailer and get to downloading.  With annoying relatives coming over for the Thanksgiving holiday and mobs of crazy people outside shopping, hunker down in your room, escape, and enjoy a long weekend of relaxing gaming.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is out now for Xbox 360 and PS3 for about 10 bucks.

Modern Warfare 2’s first batch of DLC?
By Trevor Roppolo
11/20/2009 1:32:00 PM

Don’t anybody get too bent out of shape just yet, as no one really knows what this video means.  But it seems that a software hacker somehow hacked in to the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 and discovered some new, hidden game modes that aren’t available for us to play yet.  The “hidden” game modes are “VIP,” “One Flag CTF,” and “Global Thermonuclear War.”  Are they merely remnants from the cutting-room floor, or something else?

Infinity Ward haters obviously think it is [what will become] the first batch of DLC (downloadable content) coming in the near future that we’ll have to pay for to unlock.  Makes sense, as IW would probably make a bunch of loot releasing it as pay-to-download content.  But since it’s already on the $60 disk, maybe it’s just some fan-service that will unlock with a free code in a few weeks…

No, probably not.  But that would be nice.

Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC Available Today!!
By Trevor Roppolo
9/17/2009 12:34:00 PM

If you’ve already finished the fantastic Batman: Arkham Asylum and have been depressed lately by the fact that the party is over, cheer up! Later today the first bit of DLC will be available for download on Xbox Live, PSN, and PC. The content is titled "Insane Night" and will include two challenge maps for you to run Bats through. The first map, Totally Insane, will have you “stopping” waves of inmates from escaping Arkham via the asylum’s record room. The second map, Nocturnal Predator, will be less combat intensive and instead be a stealthy affair where you’ll have to eliminate baddies without being detected. Oh, the best news of all—it’s FREE! Thanks Eidos!

The next content pack, Prey in the Darkness, will be available October 24.
