It’s obviously Turtleman’s favorite kind of trailer…
And this time it’s a David Fincher (Alien 3 and Fight Club) produced Halo 4 spot that delves into the origins of the legend himself, Master Chief.
Besides getting to see the starry-eyed boy-version of the Chief and his augmentation and indoctrination, the trailer also gives us a good look at the brand new Promethean enemy type we’ll be facing in a few weeks. Intimidating looking bastards, aren’t they?
Check it out.

The pilot episode of the fan made Halo: Helljumper series hit YouTube last week. If you didn’t know, Helljumper is a short series of films that follows the life of one human ODST from his enlistment in the UNSC before the Human-Covenant War to around the Fall of Reach. The series, which is a spin-off of the Tobias Brickell Halo: Evolutions – Essential Tales of the Halo Universe short story “Dirt” was teased late in 2011 to a very captivated Halo audience.
In the first episode, main character Gage Yevgenny has just been saved from a losing firefight by a rookie soldier on the colony of New Jerusalem. Instead of letting the Rookie complete his rescue, Yevgenny forces him to listen to his story of the war, so that hopefully he doesn’t repeat the same mistakes. This prompts a series of flashes into Yevgenny’s past that’s littered with cool special effects, an evoking musical score and some rather awkward acting and dialogue—“You coming on to me, Soldier?” and “Excuse me, miss, do you happen to have a map… ‘cause I’m lost in your eyes” are a couple of my personal favorites.
Bad acting aside, it’s a cool concept that represents the highest form of video game love.
The next episode is due out on February 15th .

A couple months after teasing the video game community at large, Bethesda has finally released the first in-game trailer for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim today.
The new trailer comes alongside the launch of the newly redesigned ElderScrolls.com , which features news, support and updates from the Bethesda team. There is also a link to join “The Elder Council ” on Facebook, which gives you access to all kinds of cool goodies like wallpapers and videos from the Elder Scrolls universe.
Bethesda is claiming that the entire trailer is in-game footage, a pretty impressive statement considering how spectacular it looks. I, for one, can not wait until November 11, 2011—when the game finally drops for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC!

Is anyone sick of these live-action trailers for Halo yet? No? Me neither. Each one that comes out is incredible; and a reminder of how awesome that full-length Halo movie would have been (my fingers are still crossed for that one). Well, the latest of these live-action commercials for Halo: Reach, “Deliver Hope,” is just as beautiful as any of them we’ve seen previously. You may recognize part of it from an earlier release but this is the extended version. Enjoy!

... for Europe . Sorry fellow North Americans.
Microsoft announced today that their exclusive psychological action thriller will be released one full week earlier than the original release date set for European gamers. This means that you’ll actually be playing a game before everyone else for a change!
I know that this doesn’t matter much to us stateside. But we should be happy for our friends across the pond. They usually have to pay way too much for stuff. They’re very pale and confused about football. And they are always getting the shaft when it comes to video games.
So, congratulations, Europe . The rest of the world will be jealous of you on May 14th .
Alan Wake will release on May 18th for North Americans.

Before Call of Duty (or even Halo) ruled the world of online console shooters, Tom Clancy games were all the hotness. Recently, the Tom Clancy games have suffered somewhat of a decline in popularity—mostly because of the paradigm shift in the industry away from tactical, squad-based shooters and in part because the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon games just don’t feel as fresh as they once did.
Well, Ubisoft announced today what everyone knew was inevitably inevitable. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is officially on its way sometime later this year. And since it’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, you can probably expect some nifty, high-tech weaponry and other future-y gadgets. Not much more has been revealed at this time but you can bet that co-op and competitive multiplayer modes will be back—both are Ghost Recon staples, after all.
Development duties are being handled by the same team that brought us GRAW and GRAW 2, Ubisoft Paris. Hopefully, they will be able to bring back Ghost Recon’s glory days and deliver the intense action and story-line gamers have become accustomed to since the last time a Ghost Recon game hit the shelves way back in 2007. The teaser trailer shows promise, but I’ll wait to see the action for myself when the beta opens for owners of Splinter Cell: Conviction this summer.

Is anyone tired of Halo besides me? I didn’t think so. If you are, though, this new trailer released today at PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) might just put you back in the mood for some sweet Spartan-on-Covenant action. Seriously, if you don’t think this is cool, check your pulse.
