Call of Duty Season 2 Guide: Settings and Tips to Improve Accuracy

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is officially live, and it is packed with tons of new content, weapons, and updates impacting almost every game mode, including an endgame system overhaul. Several new weapons, along with the launch of ranked play and the introduction of new maps, should be plenty to get players excited about season two. The new Meta shift also balances the game as players will be racing to learn the new weapons and figure out the best routes and spots in the new maps. Information is king when it comes to any new season, especially one as large as this, with the addition of so many new weapons alone, many players will be forced to change their entire playstyle. Players can also expect an adjustment period for all weapons as several received patches or tweaks to improve balancing and refresh the competitive landscape.

Outside of the competitive multiplayer updates, Season 2 introduces major upgrades to the Endgame experience as well as an expansion to Zombies with the new Mars map, bringing new enemies and challenges to the mix. The return of the "Starting Room" for Zombies will make several players happy, along with a Cursed Survival mode that will give you a new, challenging, high-risk, high-reward experience. Lastly, Call of Duty clearly listened to their community and made sure to improve Endgame, adding a new ally called Sentinel Protocol, Nightmare zones offering high-reward hotspots with challenging enemies and bosses that push players to be more strategic if they want to survive.

How to Gain an Edge in Call of Duty Season 2 and Get Ahead in Ranked Play

A new Season can be a wonderful opportunity for those looking to get a jump start on the competition, as many new seasons bring many changes that alter playstyles, weapon metas, map changes, and occasionally a rank reset for ranked play. Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings all of the above with 7 new weapons, 4 new 6v6 maps, the launch of Ranked Play, and a returning multiplayer mode. True competitive players will be excited about the launch of Ranked Play, but before you jump into your placement matches, make sure you are set up for success. You will want to spend time exploring the new weapons as well as making sure the new balancing did not disrupt your current playstyle, which is a common occurrence. I would recommend both the REV-46 (SMG) and EGRT-17 (Assault Rifle) to prioritize grinding, as the high fire rate of each will have a major impact on the current meta. Over the years, newer weapons always had a slight edge as they received the most attention from development teams right before launch. Also, with the launch of Season 2, players will be able to take advantage of double experience for a limited time, which will be a major boost when looking to grind specific weapons. Try to prioritize playing matches like Domination or Hardpoint that tend to have longer match times and the ability to maximize experience and higher kill counts. These longer matches can also be an excellent opportunity to learn player rotation patterns and identify potential choke points, as well as the best lines of sight to give yourself an advantage for more competitive modes.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 brings with it the highly anticipated Ranked Play mode, where true player skill can be tested, and the rules are set to focus on real precision. Understanding the major differences between Ranked and other modes is a quick way to get ahead, and you can find all the competitive settings on Call of Duty's site. Integrity, which is always a focus of the competitive scene, has received an upgrade with RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™, now requiring a stronger form of remote attestation, which aims to counter many aim assist exploits. This may cause players to feel like aim assist has been weakened, so you will want to make sure to spend time learning the recoil of any new guns introduced, and if your favorite weapon was rebalanced, you may find yourself changing your current loadout. Ranked play will also include placement matches that will consider Skill Rank when calibrating your rank. As important as it is to get kills playing the objective and working to help your team win, it will weigh more heavily than a strong K/D and will be the most efficient way to raise the ranks. The introduction of a veto system is another way players can give themselves an advantage if there are specific maps that favor their play style; you should aim to veto any maps that may put you at a disadvantage.

Boost Your Performance With These Controller Accessories and Thumb Grips

As you prepare for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 launch, it is important to make sure you also have the proper accessories for your controller to gain the ultimate edge against other players. Your controller is just as important when it comes to in-game performance, and KontrolFreek is one of the rare companies that has tailor-made Call of Duty products with the sole purpose of improving your accuracy, control, and precision. Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 Aim Boost Kit Collector's Edition for PS5 and Xbox One controllers will transform your current controller with thumbstick accessories that improve your aiming and targeting speed. Housed in an officially licensed Sniper Case, a pair of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 designed Performance Thumbsticks and Precision Rings™ will transform your controller into an optimized tool for deadly precision. The Precision Rings come in three strengths  (Soft, Medium, Hard) and easily fit over your analog thumbstick, and with the durable material, you will not have to worry about them losing shape over time. For those new to Precision Rings, you will want to start with the Soft strength on your right thumbstick and begin moving your controller sensitivity up until it feels just a tad quicker than you are used to. The resistance provided by the Precision Rings will allow you to play at a higher sensitivity with a much smaller adjustment period, ultimately giving you a boost in targeting and aiming speed.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 designed Performance Thumbsticks come in a mixed height (mid-rise & high-rise) pair with a concave design. This design and the advanced GripTek material will prevent your thumbs from slipping during combat and keep your thumbs locked to minimize the need to readjust. The mixed height gives players more adaptability in-game, emphasizing added control with the mid-rise equipped on the left thumbstick, and the high-rise for maximum accuracy on the right. The high-rise thumbsticks extend the height of your controller's joystick and give you extra arc distance, making aiming adjustment easier to make while in combat, regardless of your weapon of choice. Using the rings on your controller in combination with the varied height performance thumbstick grips will drastically improve your ability to make quick aiming adjustments with precision. Fully equipping your PS5 or Xbox controller with the right accessories can amplify any player's accuracy and precision in-game, but the KontrolFreek advantage gained with their Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 Aim Boost Kit Collector's Edition will have you rising the ranks in no time.
